How do I register my mobile phone number? (and why should I?)

You will need to register your mobile phone number with us before you can use the SMS service.

This lets us know where to deliver SMS messages that your contacts send to you, and also lets us identify you when you send SMS messages from your phone to one of your contacts.

If you were to send an SMS message without registering your number and the recipient tried to reply to it, you wouldn't get the message and they wouldn't know why!

Quick solution

If you try to send an SMS from the Cup of Sugar site and you haven't registered your mobile number, you will be asked to do so.

Show me how

1. Sign-in by visiting http://www.cupofsugar.com/ and entering your username or email address and password and selecting the Sign in button. You should be normally be taken to the standard search results page. If not your current profile settings do not find any matches, in which case use the quick search form to find some matches.
2. Select the red Contacts tab.
3. Select the Write an SMS icon
4. If you have not registered your mobile phone number, you will be asked to do so. Simply enter your mobile phone number into the relevant box and select the Continue button.
